陕西科技大学设计与艺术学院源于1960年的轻工产品造型设计专业。1987年设西北首个工业设计专业，后续逐步发展，2006年定名设计与艺术学院。

学院人才培养体系完整，涵盖本科到博士后。有设计学博士后科研流动站、一级学科博士学位授权点及中乌合作办学项目，还有设计学、艺术学2个一级学科硕士学位授权点和3个专业学位硕士授权点。“设计学”是省级优势学科和省重点建设学科，在2023年校友会排名全国第14。学院设有9个本科专业，其中工业设计、视觉传达设计、环境设计、动画4个专业入选国家一流专业建设点。

The School of Design and Art of Shaanxi University of Science & Technology traces its origin to the Light Industry Product Modeling Design major established in 1960. In 1987, it set up the first industrial design major in Northwest China. With gradual development in the following years, it was officially named the School of Design and Art in 2006.

The school has a complete talent cultivation system, covering education from undergraduate to postdoctoral levels. It houses a postdoctoral research station in Design Science, a first-level discipline doctoral program, and a Sino-Ukrainian cooperative education project. Additionally, there are 2 first-level discipline master's programs (in Design Science and Art Theory) and 3 professional master's programs. "Design Science" is a provincial advantageous discipline and a key provincial construction discipline, ranking 14th in the country in the 2023 Alumni Association rankings. The school offers 9 undergraduate majors, among which 4 majors—Industrial Design, Visual Communication Design, Environmental Design, and Animation—have been selected as national first-class professional construction sites.
